Tytherington School Sixth Form is celebrating yet another year of brilliant results. These results include superb performance at the highest grades, as nearly a third of all exam entries were graded either A* or A grades. 62% of all exam entries were graded A*-B and over 80% for A*-C. The pass rate is almost 100%. We are particularly proud of the progress of our students which remains outstanding and confirms the recent Ofsted judgement of our 6th Form as “excellent”. It was the very first year that we offered the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) as a course. The programme involves students researching a topic of their choice and presenting their findings to an audience. Topics included the viability of a space voyage to Mars and the use of artificial intelligence in Formula One. We are delighted that 60% of our first cohort of EPQ students achieved either A*/A grades. A-Level results are strong across the full range of subjects. These results should yet again place us amongst the best Sixth Forms in the North West.

Mr Emmanuel Botwe, Headteacher said: ‘We are so proud of the achievements of all our students at Sixth Form. We are delighted that we have been able to increase the proportion of students who achieve the highest passes in comparison to last year. Whilst it is great to get fantastic results year on year, what matters to us most is that the youngsters leave here as A* people with a real desire to make a positive difference to the world. Once again, we have achieved strong results which should place us yet again amongst the best Sixth Forms in the country for progress. We have a very proud comprehensive tradition at our Sixth Form and I’m pleased that we have the full range of students moving on to top universities, apprenticeships and the world of work. The hard graft of our students, the passion of our staff and their commitment to providing every youngster with the best possible education has resulted in another year of great results for our outstanding 6th Form. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of our young people across the Macclesfield schools on their deserved success; we wish you all the very best for the future.”
