This course is equivalent to 3 A Levels and will be the main focus of a student’s sixth form study. The Extended Diploma is an ideal course for those who wish to continue their education through applied learning and who aim to progress to higher education and ultimately to employment in the business sector. The qualification aims to provide a comprehensive study of the business sector.

There is a high percentage of internally assessed coursework, which may appeal to students who prefer a more continuous approach to assessment. The external
assessments may be in the form of a written examination, but may also be a set task which is completed during a defined window.

The Extended Diploma encompasses the Academy of Finance. Students studying the Extended Diploma will have the opportunity to follow the ‘Career Ready’ programme, work with a Business Partner and complete a six-week summer internship as part of the course.
