Sixth Form
Possible Pathways & Entry Requirements
All students at Tytherington Sixth Form follow a Linear two-year programme of study. Students should apply for 3 subjects or 3 subjects plus an Enrichment AS subject.
A small number of students may choose to study 4 subjects and would be expected to achieve predominantly grades 8/9 at GCSE to do so. Through a supported application process, applicants can be assured that they will be supported in choosing a suitable study programme.
In order to ensure that students enrol on courses that they will be able to complete, and in which they will gain success, we set the following minimum entry requirements. Applicants are expected to achieve a minimum of five grades at GCSE 9-5. Students are expected to meet the subject specific entry requirements listed below and in the Courses Information booklet.
Students who achieve below grade 4 in English and Mathematics will have to re-sit the examination in Year 12. Students who achieve grade 4 will be given the opportunity to re-sit the examination in Year 12 in order to achieve a grade 5.
