Headteacher’s Notes 20th June

I hope you are well and that you have had a chance to remain cool in the very hot
weather this week.

It has been an event-packed week with plenty going on both inside and outside the
classroom. As ever, I’m grateful to colleagues for their continued energy and
commitment in making so much happen for our students. On Thursday we welcomed
several primary schools from across Macclesfield to take part in the Aspire Trust’s
Public Speaking Competition. Mr Ackerley was one of the judges. A huge well done to
everyone who took part. We were blown away by just how amazing the speeches were
from Year 5 and 6 students. You can also read about a group of our Year 9
Mathematicians who went to Edge Hill University to take part in the regional
mathematics challenge finals. Our whole school assembly this week was on Pride
Month. The students learned about understanding and respecting others. We are
extremely proud of our inclusive community here at Tytherington School.
