Headteacher’s Notes 17th April
Dear Families,
I hope you had a restful and enjoyable Easter break. It has been a positive and purposeful start to the new term at Tytherington. This week our Year 12 students visited the University of Sheffield to gain an insight into life beyond the age of 18. Across the school, students have been fully engaged in their learning. This is the season when GCSE assessments kick in. This week our PE students have been involved in GCSE moderation and our Year 11 Mandarin students have had their speaking examinations. Well done to our Year 8s who have been taking their assessments. This morning, Mr Pilbury has taken a group of students out on a Duke of Edinburgh Silver expedition. They will be making their way to Ladybower Reservoir and then expeditioning from there into the Edale and Hope valleys, finishing in Castleton. What a great opportunity. It has been a focused and purposeful start to the term.
