On behalf of the whole Tytherington School community, we would like to congratulate the Sixth Form Class of 2026 on their fantastic achievements.

Our students have worked incredibly hard throughout their time at Tytherington, and we are extremely proud of what they have achieved. Their results reflect not only their academic ability, but also the hard work, resilience, and determination they have shown throughout their Sixth Form journey. We are particularly proud of the progress students have made from their individual starting points.

This morning, it was wonderful to share the special moment of students receiving their results and celebrating together with friends, families, and staff. Results Day is always one of the highlights of the school year, and the pictures below tell their own story of the joy, excitement and pride felt across our Sixth Form.

These excellent results also reinforce the findings of our recent Ofsted inspection in June, which judged Tytherington’s Sixth Form provision to be Strong. Inspectors recognised the high-quality education and support our students receive, and today’s results provide further evidence of the strength of our Sixth Form and the ambition we have for every student.

There are so many individual successes that we could highlight, but we would particularly like to recognise the following students, whose achievements reflect the effort and success of the year group as a whole:

• Oliver Gowin achieved three A* grades and will be going on to study Engineering at the University of Cambridge, St John’s College.
• Poppy Houldcroft achieved the highest value-added scores in the Sixth Form. This is based on progress made from GCSE. Poppy has secured a place at the University of Manchester to read Politics and Sociology. 
• Jack Belford, Gabriella Ninka, Erin Vincent, Henry McCandless, Arlo Wight- McClean, Tom Griffin, Andrew Stewart, Joseph Wainwright, Akasya Diken, Lily Robinshaw, Poppy Houldcroft, Imogen Hough, William Marsten, Amelia Nelson, Zach Wilson, Lucy Cazalet and Lollie Woolley all achieved grades A or above in all their subjects.

Head of Sixth Form, Ms Roe, said:

“Congratulations to the Class of 2026! I am incredibly proud of everything our students have achieved. They have shown tremendous determination and resilience throughout their time in the Sixth Form, and it has been a privilege to see them grow in confidence and ambition. They leave Tytherington with some wonderful memories and, most importantly, exciting opportunities ahead of them. We wish every one of them the very best for the future.”

Headteacher, Mr Botwe, said:

“I am absolutely delighted with the achievements of our Year 13 students and particularly proud of the progress they have made during their time at Tytherington.

“These results are also a wonderful endorsement of the Strong judgement our Sixth Form received from Ofsted following our inspection in June. We have a very proud comprehensive and inclusive tradition at Tytherington, and Results Day always demonstrates what that means in practice. Our students are moving on to a fantastic range of destinations, including some of the country’s top universities, high-quality apprenticeships, and the world of work.

“What matters most is that our young people leave us ready for their next step and excited about their futures. Their success is the result of their resilience, grit and hard work, combined with the expertise, care and commitment of our staff and the support of their families.

“I know this is a cohort that will go on to achieve really big things in the years ahead. We are incredibly proud of them. Well done to the Class of 2026!”
