Headteacher’s Notes 17th January

Dear Families,
I hope you are well. It was wonderful to welcome the full school back on Monday. Thank you for your remarkable levels of patience last week. The first week back has been full of activity with the Year 11s jumping straight into Mock Examinations. On Wednesday we welcomed teams of year 6 mathematicians from local Primary Schools to take part in a day of Maths challenges. We were joined by teams from Marlborough, Puss Bank, Bollington St John’s, Dean Valley and Hurdsfield. The day included tasks such as cross numbers, logic puzzles and group tasks. The highlight of the day was a competitive Maths relay. All of the teams worked incredibly hard. We were also delighted to hear about the record numbers of students who have received offers from the University of Oxford. A big well done to all the students, staff and families involved. Our Oxbridge Applications Co-Ordinator, Ms Cook, has done a great job in ensuing that the students are well prepared for the application process.
