Headteacher’s Notes 27th February

Dear Families,

Thank you for joining us for this week’s edition of the Headteacher’s Notes. It was great to welcome back the students on Monday (particularly the handful of students who support Spurs). It has been another full and positive week at Tytherington.

We were delighted to host free Cardiac screening in school for our Year 11 students on Tuesday and Wednesday. This opportunity is being offered via the Mia Jennings Memorial Fund. Mia was a Macclesfield student who sadly passed away of a Cardiac arrest aged 19 in 2023. Her parents, in conjunction with support from Everybody Leisure gyms, have raised funds to provide screening for all Year 11s across the Macclesfield area. As you may be aware, it was a powerful and important event, giving young people access to potentially life saving checks. We are keen to support this initiative in the years ahead and, over time, raise funds so that future year groups can benefit in the same way.
