Headteacher’s Notes 4th July

Dear Families,
I hope you are well and enjoying the lighter evenings. It’s been another full week at Tytherington, with students involved in a wide mix of activities both in and out of the classroom.
Rehearsals for our upcoming summer show, Little Shop of Horrors, are now well underway. Ms Fellows and the cast have been working hard after school to bring the production to life, and we cannot wait to see the final result later this term. It is always a highlight on the school calendar and a great example of student creativity and teamwork. On Wednesday, a group of our Year 9 students set off on a trip to China as part of our Mandarin programme. Over the next two weeks, they will be learning more about Chinese language and culture, growing in confidence, and building memories that will stay with them for years. We look forward to hearing all about their journey when they return. Earlier in the week, we held our last Lecture Day of the year, with a focus on engineering. Students heard from two brilliant speakers—Alice Kan and David Lawrance—who gave their time to speak about their work and career paths. Their talks showed just how many exciting options there are in the world of engineering and gave real encouragement to students as they think about the future.
