Gold School Games AwardIt has just been announced that Tytherington School has been awarded the top accolade for school sport and games: The School Games GOLD Award. The Sainsbury’s School Games Mark is a Government led scheme to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Schools in England are assessed across bronze, silver and gold levels of the quality mark.

Only the top 5% of schools achieve GOLD and can demonstrate that pupils have the widest range of clubs and activities in which to participate.

Headteacher, Manny Botwe, said: “Tytherington has embraced several sporting opportunities and established strong pupil sport leadership programmes. We are delighted to receive the award.”

Head of PE and Ethos, Dave Fitzsimmons said: “Thank you to all students, parents and carers who have supported us in achieving this fantastic award.”
