This course is equivalent to two A Levels and is an ideal course for those who have a passion for all aspects of sport. It would particularly suit students who are likely to go on to study at higher education or work in the sport and leisure industry. The qualification covers a diverse range of areas within sport. The key areas of physiology, psychology and leadership will be studied in depth across a variety of units.
Progression
This qualification is recognised by higher education providers as
meeting admission requirements for many relevant specialist courses, for example:
BSc (Hons) in Sport, Physical Education and Coaching Science, which could lead to employment as a community sports coach or a Physical Education (PE) teacher;
BA (Hons) in Sports Studies and Development, which could lead to employment as a sports
development officer for a National Governing Body or County Sports Partnership.

Entry Requirements
Minimum grade C in GCSE PE, if taken.
5A* - C grades at GCSE (grade 9-4 in English and Mathematics).
Although GCSE Physical Education is not required, a keen interest across a wide range of sporting areas is essential.
