On four consecutive evenings from Tuesday 5th July to Friday 8th July, Tytherington School put on its annual school production. This year the students put on the very popular “Back to the 1980s” musical. Well over 50 cast members acted, sang and danced their way through an excellent production. The musical contained several 1980s classics including “Footloose”, “Girls Just Wanna have fun” and “Total Eclipse of the Heart”. The Tytherington School Company played to over 1000 people over four days as well as a performance for Tytherington School’s partner primary schools.

The musical was produced and directed by Rachel Fellows, Head of Drama, and Drama teacher, Jess Higgins. Student teacher, Jenna Finnigan choreographed the show and Head of Music, Dave Liley, was the Musical director. Clare Wearne was responsible for the wonderful costumes.

Headteacher, Manny Botwe said, “Yet again our Performing Art departments have put together a fantastic show. Well over 50 students across the full age range took part in the show. At a time when education seems to be dominated by talk of league tables, statistics and numbers, I’m delighted that we have chosen to make time for young people to develop their full range of talents, whatever they may be. I’m extremely proud to be Headteacher of Tytherington School.”
