Cheshire East Council meeting on Thursday 23rd February 2017 regarding Bollington Buses
13th February 2017

As you will be aware, we have been campaigning to prevent the local council from declaring that the Middlewood Way is a safe route and removing a free bus service to hundreds of children living in Bollington. Owing to considerable public pressure and opposition amongst councillors, Cheshire East Council are meeting again to review the decision of the Cabinet to remove free transport provision for many Bollington youngsters. The special meeting will take place at The Ballroom, Sandbach Town Hall, High Street, Sandbach, CW11 1AX at 11am.

We have had several requests from parents and students wishing to come along to the event to enable their voices to be heard. On the day, Ladyline buses have kindly agreed to provide a bus for students and parents who wish to attend although the capacity of the bus is 70 people. The bus will leave school at 10am on the day. We can’t be sure when the school transport motion will be discussed but we expect it to be one of the early items. The coach will leave the venue at around 12.30pm.

Although it is half-term, I would ask that youngsters wear their school uniform as we are representing the school and local community.

If you would like to travel to the meeting using the coach, then please complete the slip below and return to school by Thursday 16th February. Alternatively send in the information required using e-mail on info@tytheringtonschool.co.uk.
