This week saw over 240 Year 7 students start their school careers at Tytherington School. Mr Botwe hosted a special get together for new year 7s to talk to students about their experience of secondary school so far.

The students have spent their first week getting to know where things are on the vast school site and studying subjects which will be unfamiliar to Year 7s such as Classics and Mandarin. Many of the students were also able to take part in Tytherington’s Summer School.

Ada Kinsey, who joined Tytherington from Rainow School, said “I have enjoyed my first week at school, particularly Science”.  Mason Heywood from Prestbury Primary School, said: “I enjoyed finding out more things about my new friends in my form and I feel I know them a bit better now.”

Headteacher, Mr Botwe, said: “It has been great to welcome the new year 7. I have been delighted by their willingness to get involved and how well they have gelled together. As I’ve said time and time again, we are in the business of developing A* people who will make a positive impact in the world. It is really important that the new Year 7 feel really comfortable. We encourage the older students to look after the younger ones and invest in team-building activities for our new starters. We are really excited by what they will achieve.”
