The highlight of the final week was the House Christmas Pantomimes. We introduced the pantos in December 2015 and they are now a real highlight of the school calendar. We were delighted to welcome guests from Ingersley Court Care Home in Bollington for our Wednesday performance. A massive well done to the cast who performed to the whole school as well as families on Thursday evening.

Ash House performed a modern twist on Mother Goose complete with Fairy Bush Tucker Trail. Elm got to grips with their inventive version of A Christmas Carol and finally Oak told the traditional tale of Cinderella complete with carriage and a pineapple!

The students have delivered several performances in the context of a great deal of illness amongst the student body. This has meant that cast members have often had to adapt and fill in for each other. Nearly 100 students were involved in either being part of the cast, the production team or creating the set and costumes.

Headteacher, Emmanuel Botwe said: “This is a real special event for us as the pantomimes provide students with an opportunity to be part of an audience as well as giving youngsters the chance to perform, sing and dance in front of their family and friends. A huge well done to everybody who took part.”

Charley Moffatt, Year 13 student, said: “On Wednesday the 14th of December we were joined by residents from Ingersley Court Care Home in Bollington. They were invited by Mrs Goldie and her Links group who baked mince pies and served teas and coffees to our guests. They loved watching the pantos and hope they will join us again.”
