Dear Families,

You will be aware that the National Education Union (NEU) is engaged in an ongoing national dispute with the government. The NEU have called two further strike dates which will affect schools across the country:

· Thursday 27th April 2023

· Tuesday 2nd May 2023

As is the case for many other secondary schools across the country, we have several teachers who will be involved in the planned industrial action which means that we will not be able to open safely to all students on those days. School will be closed to all year groups on those days apart from Years 11 and 13. Lessons for these year groups will run as normal.

The rationale for selecting these year groups is because of the proximity of the strike dates to public examinations.

For students not in school, work will be set via Firefly.

I’m sorry that you will have to make alternative arrangements for your child yet again and that they will experience disruption to their education. I will inform you as soon as possible if arrangements change further.
