Headteacher’s Notes

I hope you are well. It has been a very productive week in the life of Tytherington School. The students have returned from the half-term break with a focused and purposeful attitude. As you will be aware, one of our core school values is being prepared. It certainly was the theme of this week as the Year 13s had their second week of mock examinations and we hosted our second Year 11 Parents Evening on Thursday. On Tuesday we also held a special Year 11 Revision Evening for parents and students to look at the best way of revising for the summer examinations. We were really impressed with the high numbers of families who came along to one of the two evening sessions. We are confident that they will be as well prepared as possible for their summer examinations. The Year 8s also started on the next rotation of their Electives on Thursday. It is always great to see youngsters picking up a new hobby or extra curricular activity. We are also looking forward to our annual Takeover Day next week which will see students having the opportunity to “take over” some of the staff roles. We will also be celebrating International Women’s Day with a fantastic line-up of inspirational speakers for a special lecture day next Friday. We’ll let you know how we get on next week.
